By July 17, 2017July 20th, 2017Uncategorized

At the end of June, the commissioning of SAGE III/ISS was successfully completed. The project phase came to a close and the science mission officially started July 1. SAGE III continues to operate well on the space station and data product development is moving along.

This single profile measurement was made over the western desert of Iraq at 1-kilometer vertical resolution. The smoothness of the profile line reflects the quality of the data. The ozone profiles span the entire mesosphere, stratosphere and most of the troposphere, as clouds permit.

Ozone density varies by six full orders of magnitude over this altitude range. Uncertainty estimates in individual profiles at the stratospheric peak are typically 0.5%

The science team is working to implement further improvements in data quality prior to public release which is expected by the end of the year.
